Hi,

I am new and found this forum due to a recent trouble I have with my laptop.

Recently, I have been experiencing a lot of BSOD out of nowhere, not sure if it has to do with updates, I tried to view some other posts, but can't find the exact resolutions.

Downloaded BlueScreenViewer and obtained the following report:

0x000000C2: BAD_POOL_CALLER
A kernel-mode process or driver incorrectly attempted to perform memory operations. Typically, a faulty driver or buggy software causes this.

You said you recently did updates so did any of those updates include drivers?

Have you tried to start in Safe Mode and see if the issue happens there?

Hi there,

Thank you for your response, regarding the updates, its actually about a month ago, and I believe that is also a similar time when the BSOD starts happening. I checked the windows update, and the recent ones I saw was .Net framework v.4 updates..

I have yet to try with Safe Mode.. But I found out yesterday when I was updating SteamValve, it triggers the BSOD every time. Other times come with YouTube, maybe I switch video's too fast...?

I haven't tried with Safe Mode with Networking, but I don't know where to go about after using Safe Mode..

Thanks in advance!

Go into Safe Mode With Networking and then try your videos then.
If it works then it is a driver issue. If not it still could be a driver or some software you are using.

Yes, everything seems fine actually.

Up until I update Steam, then it would go BSOD and the restart on its own. Sometimes it would even run the drive check prior to windows.

So today, I have decided to install Steam and downloaded it again, it worked. However, I am more concern about the next update or other programs that require updating and encounter the same situation. Do you have any idea how it can be prevented?

Appreciate your help :)

Nope the only thing I would suggest is do one program at a time. Update and then test. We know steam caused a issue but that seems to have rectified itself.
