That is the way you have to be sometimes. Loose pockets don't make no money :D

I am the same way with relationships, always giving relationship advice but somehow still manage to stay single! Haha

 :spoton:

Alright, so I plan to buy that EVGA card on August 16th. When I get it, for installation, do I put the disc in the drive and install the drivers and then turn the computer off and put the new card in and turn it back on and once on, uninstall the 5770 from my system? I believe I might have uninstalled the integrated chipset, not sure if it is even possible? I was having some graphics problems and I had to play around with the drivers in the device manager and I think I might of uninstalled it. This was a good 6+ months ago.

First of all I would check for driver updates for your integrated video chip http://www.innovativ....com/drivermax/ only update the chipset driver if it is recommended and be sure to uncheck the "install AVG toolbar" box.

Next save the drivers for the new card to somewhere that is convenient such as your desktop > uninstall the drivers for the HD 5770 > run Driver Sweeper http://www.guru3d.co...er-sweeper.html turn off and disconnect all cables from the computer and swap the cards, once you have reconnected everything restart the computer using the Windows generic video drivers and then install the drivers for your card that you saved earlier and you are done.

As an asides I received the last two items of my new build today - the HDD and surprise, surprise the GPU which were both out of stock when I ordered but not listed as being so :( I have to wait until tomorrow to do the build though as we have the very curious 3 year old Grandson staying over tonight :)

I have Driver Booster 2.0 on my system from Iobit, the makers of Advanced Systemcare which I swear by. Anyways, I swore I uninstalled the integrated graphics, Intel 4000 something but there was a driver update for it on Driver Booster in which for the heck of it I downloaded it and installed it.

I am glad to hear you got those items. The card I have been drooling over the last few weeks finally got restocked on Newegg and I won't be able to get it until mid August and will probably be sold out by then, again. I also have my dad's and nephew's birthday that week....decisions, decisions! I have a 3 year old niece I know how it is with them. Touch everything, chomp on it, and/or run off with it yelling in excitement that I might be chasing her to get it back.

Side question if I may? I have been running this Driver Booster and I keep getting an update for my Realtek HD sound. I download and install it and re run the program and low and behold, its still there for another update. I kid you not, I updated it about 20 times. I have, as far as I know, never updated the sound driver, ever. My nephew got the Driver program on his system and did one install for it and it was done, did not come up again. Does it require you to install each update in succession or does the latest version have all the old versions so you don't have to step up to the latest? The Driver Booster program does not show the version that I am updating to unfortunately. It does for certain drivers but not all of them, sound being one of them.

The choice to use programs such Advanced Systemcare is entirely down to the end user in the end but I can tell you that you will not find a member of GTG staff ever recommending the use of such software as the programs often actually cause problems with the resultant suggested fix by the software coming at a price, please see the attached article http://miekiemoes.bl...weaking_13.html

RE driver updates, as a rule of thumb never update a driver unless you have to, many driver updates are released to address known issues, if you are not having the said issue you do not need the update and installing it can actually create the very issue it is intended to resolve, some info http://lifehacker.co...date-my-drivers

I will let you know when the build is done and how the card performs btw and I don`t envy your decisions with the birthdays etc, very good description of a 3 year old child`s behavior :spoton:

Hmm, that's weird, I never had problems with it as far as I can tell and I am now on my 2nd yearly billing cycle with it, 3rd year over all (used free version for a while.) I like how it does everything in one package, anti-virus, maleware, registry cleaner, RAM boost, internet boost, Turbo Boost, (shuts down unneeded programs and processes that are not required or needed, to boost performance) file shredder, disk cleaner, defrag, junk files, deleted file recovery. There is more but those are the things I can remember. I pretty much only use this program for performance on my pc. I let it do it's clean with the settings to the default only when performance monitor suggests. My dad, brother, nephew and myself all use it.

I also never knew about updating only if needed. I want to point out that when I go to my device manager and update the sound driver through there it says it's up to date. I guess I will only use this program from now on only if needed.

I am thinking of getting my nephew a capture card for his birthday which means I will have to hold off getting my card if I do. My dad, I want to just get him a whole new computer period. He is stuck on this lame and snail like Dell all in one PC.

It would appear that you are one of the lucky users but don`t forget you are paying for it and where problems arise with most of the so called "system optimizers" is the fact that they offer you a free scan and then find or in certain instances actually create a problem on the computer which the software offers to resolve for $19.99 or so, driver scanning software is renowned for this and as you are now aware the "if it ain`t broke don`t fix it" approach should be taken.

Video capture cards can be pricey but well worth the cash if put to good use http://bestcaptureca...-with-hdmi.html and http://top5-reviews....e-card-reviews/ http://www.amazon.co...ag=akapost0a-20

AIOs are fine for office and school work but until they can get better power supplies and graphics solutions in them light duties is as good as most get.

Yeah, my dad just watches netflix and messes with/stores a LOT of pictures/videos on his computer. He does not play WoW due to not being able to enjoy it because of the performance, especially after watching me play it on my system in comparison. I know what you are talking about with the "Fix it for $19.99" Thankfully, even the free version does not charge or make you upgrade to fix it. I upgraded out of pure "Wow, amazing" factor.

My nephew wants the card so he can do live streaming on call of duty and WoW on youtube. He is also going to be starting college for graphic design/business management and I thought these would help him build his portfolio along with the other software he has. I was thinking of getting him this package:

Webcam: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16826104635

Capture Card: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16815116084 which is actually #5 on your top 5 site. The Amazon one you found is way cheaper!

Nice package

I suggested the 1480 as the upgrade that is the 1504 does not have USB 3.0 capability so to me is overpriced @ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BQ7KICQ

Yes sir, and the 1480 was the one I picked in the link I provided to newegg. I am sure he is going to really enjoy it!

I was hoping we weren't going off topic and I thank you for answering my concerns here if I was.

All good all round it would appear :)

You are most welcome and no harm in asking additional questions when it does not involve repairing a broken computer or two

In terms of purely performance, which of these 3 would you pick?

http://www.newegg.co...814202026<br />
http://www.newegg.co...814125414<br />
or the one I was going to originally go with,

For me the GTX 760 and based on the cost to performance ratio + the amount of positive feedback ratings the card has at Newegg.

First choice.
Second choice.
Third choice.
