Prelude:
After a format I some how did not transfer some VERY important documents. I used "Wondershare Data Recovery" to get the documents back.

Problem:
The WPS files I try to open come in are garbled. I have tried several programs to get the text back.

Specs:
Windows Vista 32bit.
2GB RAM
Service Pack 2

I have access to Windows 7.

Thank you for at least reading this. I look forward to hearing from you all.

if you have already written to the drive (reinstalled the os for example) then it may be very difficult to recover the data. We recommend the use of Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuva. You may actually need to send off the drive to a professional data recovery service. This can be expensive. DriveSavers and Kroll Ontrack are the two that I've used in the past.
