Hello fellow geeks

I've been wanting to build myself a budget gaming PC which should be able to run BF3 on atleast high settings.

And since its my first time building a PC from the bottom and up, I would highly appreciate a second opinion on it.

My Build:

Processor - AMD Athlon X4 760K Black Edition 3.8GHz
Video Card - XFX Radeon HD7850 Core 1GB
RAM - 2 sticks - G.Skill RipjawsX 4GB DDR3 PC-10666 1333MHz
Motherboard - MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 - mATX / A75 / DDR3
Hard Drive - Can't remember name, using the one from my old PC 500gb Sata
Tower - AW Pirate S
Power Supply - XFX 550W Core Edition

I realise that somethings are missing like a Harddrive.

All I wanted to know is, does this setup look good? Do you think I'll be able to run BF3, skyrim and crysis3 on high settings? with a decent fps?(35-40ish)

Couple of pointers for you to consider, the CPU is not shown to be compatible with the MB according to the QVL, please see my canned text below;

For the best and most stable performance you should where possible purchase a CPU and Ram that have been tested and approved by the motherboard manufacturer, this is referred to as the QVL ( qualified vendors list ) understand though that there are too many products released for them all to be tested so other hardware will be compatible but not proven to be.

Your MBs QVL

Pay a little more and purchase 1600MHz Ram to avoid potential bottlenecks with the CPU and video card.

You do not have an OS such as Windows 7 64-bit on the list, what will you be using.

Hello, friend.
Phill already informed you about RAM and OS,

But if I were you, I wouldnot go for a HD7850, at least go for HD7870XT editions.

You can play BF3 without problem with 7850, but always plan ahead, so that you won't have to upgrade it in a short time. Also, I would wait some more to see what will AMD's new series of graphic cards bring. The rumors say that new GPU's will be really fast.

Even if they wont, they will hopefully send the prices of the 7xxx series down And it is scheduled to 25 september that AMD will bring in their new series. just 20 days more

And one more thing, always make sure your PSU has some head room for future upgrades. 550W may do good for now, but think of buying at least something above 650w. and make sure that your PSU is labeled Bronze PLUS. this is important for energy efficiency.
