Everytime I turn it on, it works for a minute or two then it crashes and says its trying to prevent further damage. A friend of mind suggested that I try to update my window, because it had been a while since i did it, but when I searched for available update it said error 8008005. I have restored it twice and the problems remains.

Sounds more like a hardware problem.

I have restored it twice and the problems remains.

What kind of "Restore" have you done?

Please supply as much information as possible which will help us diagnose the problem.

Is it a a manufactured one like Dell or HP? give the brand and model number, ex. Dell XPS 520I.
If it is a custom build? Give the full specs, please include the PSU.
What OS is installed.

Do you hear any beeping noise?

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode and then roll back to s System Restore Point?
