Hi I have found 2 wifi points at a friends with the same name is this an indication of a rogue access point? they show up on Speccy 1 has 87% signal and the other I think 92% if it was the same point would not show the same signal strength?
I posted a pic for you to see ;)

2 wifis.png

If it is rogue there is only 1 house it can come from, should I phone the police or kick in there door and karate chop them? (joking about the karate chop and door)
Thanks in advance for any help

My router broadcasts 2 signals, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, which can both have the same SSID. I added a 5 to the SSID for the 5 GHz signal to avoid confusion. So it is possible for one router to have two signals (You can see this in the router setup page).

Hi Buddierdl and thank you for the reply
I checked the router and it only has 1 ssid which is odd.
On further investigation I did find it was emitting something called BTFon which sneakily is left on by BT by default I have turned this off, it takes 48 hours to completely die so after its dead Ill see if it is still emitting the 2nd signal.
Thank you

Hi it still is showing after 48 hours and I can't see 2 profiles anywhere in the interface.
Would you have any suggestion's to find out what or where it's coming from please.
Thanks

Hi,

Can you run a command prompt as administrator on your computer, and type the following command:

netsh wlan show all >> %USERPROFILE%\desktop\networks.txt

Then copy and paste the text from "networks.txt" on your desktop into your next reply.
