Hello everyone, first of all I would like to introduce myself to this forums.
Im a 16 years old boy from the netherlands and I got above average knowledge about computers..

But now I got a problem, about a month ago my laptop stopped working, I was about to buy a new one when my father, that's how he is, wanted to prove he could easily fix the laptop. Behind my back he bought a new hard drive with in mind that it would fix everything. It didn't. Now he also bought a new ramstick, again behind my back. I gave up the hope long before, until today..

I was home alone and saw my laptop laying on the table, I went to look at it and found out there was no RAM insterted, that evening I told my dad that that could be a reason the laptop didnt work, so he gave me the 2 ramsticks (the one he bought and the old one). I inserted the new one on the first ramslot, and tried starting my laptop. THE SCREEN TURNED ON AND I EVEN WAS ABLE TO GO TO FACEBOOK! I decided to try and go put in the other ramstick in the second ramslot. The screen turned on again and I could do whatever I want.

This is where the problem comes.. I didnt close the tray yet, because that would have been lots of work for just testing. So now I closed the tray, and after putting all of the screws in, I wanted to play some games on my laptop, I pressed the power button, but the screen stayed black, just like before. I really dont know what happened in the time that I closed the tray.. before it worked smoothly (turned it off after like 5 minutes of testing). I opened the tray again and tried starting, still black screen (computer does start).

I was confinced there was no problems with the hardware, seeing that I used the computer 1 hour earlier.. thats why I went to youtube and tried out everything I could find. For information I connected my laptop to a external screen, I've done that alot before so I know how to do it, but even on the external screen there only black. I'm still wondering why it worked before I closed the tray and stopped working after that.

Well.. I hope someone can do anything with this information, maybe it was too detailed but this is my first post on a forum like this..
Thanks in advance!
Kind Regards, Sven

PS: Because my dad bought those pieces of hardware it would be a waste to buy a new laptop..
