It's plugged into the front USB port. It wouldn't work when plugged into the USB port on the back of the computer.

Does your computer have the round green and blue ports for the keyboard and mouse cables?

There should be USB ports right there below the round ports. Plug the receiver into one of them.

Hmmm, one thing you can try is to cleanup all USB device connection memories.

Before you do this, connect a PS2 (round end) Mouse in place of the wireless. Then do the following, including uninstalling the USB mouse entry.

As an alternative, give DriveCleanup a try: DriveCleanup - 1remove nonpresent drives from the registry - about half way down the page.

Those are the ones I tried when I first got the keyboard and mouse. They didn't work with the receiver there.
