I know there is similar forum, but it doesn't answer my questions. Hence, posting here.
My Acer laptop was not able to start. It sometime started, so, I backed up my important data. Since then, it is not able to start, even by using bootable DVD or by restore points. From a bootable DVD's command prompt, I was able to access C, bu: drive sometime backt even that is not accessible now. So, I decided to run CHKDSK from bootable DVD's command prompt. This is the command:
CHKDSK C: /B /V (maximum coverage)
It is stucked at 16% from last 12 hours and I am still holding patience. My hard disk size is 280 GB and there is only one drive on it (C: drive). I am seriously doubting my harddisk got corrupted and not sure what to do next?
Please advise at the earliest on what should I do next. Also, please advise on where can I view log files created by CHKDSK by using command prompt (not from eventvwr). Please remember, I am in MS DOS mode so my options are limited.
OS: Windows 7 Home premium
Thanks.
