Hi everybody :

Has anyone seen or heard of any Motherboards that don't have a RealTek Sound Chip ? I've got a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H Motherboard. And the Onboard sound is only in "plain-old 2-channel sound". I contacted Gigabyte USA about this, and they replied that is is "normal". Normal ? I've NEVER heard about modern Motherboards only producing "plain-old 2 channel sound" Besides, RealTek Customer Service is non-existent. They've got the "Yeah....yeah...we'll take care it" attitude. And then nothing. For anyone's information, they are located in Milpitas, California.... The full address is : RealTek Semiconductor Corp., 1900 McCarthy Blvd., Suite 412, Milpitas, California, 95035.

Hello stanulg1952

Not sure if there is crossed wires somewhere as your MB has 8 channel audio (7.1) http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813128547 the MB specs do however state the following;

1.Audio 1.Realtek ALC887 codec
2.High Definition Audio
3.2/4/5.1/7.1-channel
* To configure 7.1-channel audio, you have to use an HD front panel audio module and enable the multi-channel audio feature through the audio driver.
