K I used the new vista re and ran the repair. After restart I'm getting Hal.dll missing or corrupt now

Ok, repeat the step to restore the missing file:
sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\hal.dll

Lets see if windows have a good copy of that.

On the command prompt can you type:
c:

dir

Does the dir command list some of your files and folders like windows, users, etc.?

yes i got to c: and dir showed that stuff

i ran a chkdsk and now when i try and boot it says wdfldr.sys is missing or corrupt

Hum, the system is in bad shape.

Try to run a run SFC scan now because the last time it didn't run if I recall correctly.

sfc /scannow

Make sure you type just like that, make sure you put the spaces between arguments.

i typed it just like that and same thing happened

wait sry darn phone didnt show me some of the command line. I got it right this time and its says running scan "this process will take some time"
