Depends on what comparison engine you use.

I think the quad core is the better option for overall performance.  With a decent cooler, should overclock well.  The Duo may start to choke the GPU at very high game setting.

Not particularly relevant with a socket LGA 775 MB or a thread that is almost three years old, smells a bit spammy tbh.
