The iTunes Bonjour service was acting up and to make sure we get it working properly we need to uninstall and reinstall all related iTunes programs:

  • iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and aren't deleted by removing iTunes. While it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it's always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up.
  • These steps may take a significant amount of time to complete, depending on your system.

1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:

  • iTunes
  • Apple Software Update
  • Apple Mobile Device Support
  • Bonjour
  • Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.

2. Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled

In most cases, removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs. In some rare cases, files may be left behind. After following the previous steps, you should confirm that the following files and folders have been removed. If any are left behind, remove them now:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\

3. Reinstall iTunes and related components

After verifying that iTunes is completely uninstalled, restart your computer and download and install the latest version of iTunes.

Once this is complete please restart the computer. Then follow these steps to generate a new extras report:

Please re-open OTL

  • Double click the Posted Image on your desktop. Vista /7 users right click and click Run as Administrator. Make sure all other windows are closed .
  • You will see a console like the one below:

Posted Image

  • At the top of the console click the greyed out None button.<---Very Important
  • Make sure the Output box at the top is set to Standard Output.
  • In the Extra Registry section, click the Use Safelist button.<---Very Important
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so.
  • Let the scan run uninterrupted. The scan won't take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open a notepad window, Extras.Txt. It is saved in the same location as OTL.

Please post:

Extras.txt

Also please let me know if there is any change in the computer's performance.

got itunes uninstalled and reinstalled. the computer is running fine but after the reinstall i opened itunes to let it index the music folder and when i clicked close the music kept playing for about 2 minutes. good chance that that was just itunes lag due to the 20,000+ files that it is associated with.

yeah, must have been the indexing because itunes seems to be shutting down normally now. it did give me a warning that the Bonjour service is disabled and needs to be restarted for things to be fully functional.

bottom line, computer seems to be running just fine!

Good news! Your logs appear to be clean now.

Tool Cleanup

Run AdwCleaner and press uninstall

Go to Control Panel and in your uninstall list please uninstall the eset online scanner.

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programs we have used plus itself. It will ask you to reboot the computer, please do so.

Once it finishes rebooting you may right click and delete any other tools or files (like the *.bat files) on your desktop that we will no longer need.

Clear Restore Points

Go Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools
Right click Disc Cleanup and select run as administrator
When it pops up at the first prompt select OK after it has done some calculations the tabs will appear
Select More Options tab
Press System Restore and Shadow Copies Cleanup button
