Hey guys this is gonna be my first post here. Well, I've got a problem with my internet connection. I'm using Google Chrome (also tried other browsers) and when I open a webpage it just doesn't load. After a few reloads it launches but it's pretty frustrating cause I'm using Windows 8 and some of the apps are like close, open, close, open. So, is it my internet connection problem or an OS problem ? :help:

First and foremost, welcome to Geeks To Go's forums! I hope that after having this issue resolved you continue to stick around and pitch in some support where you can and learn from all the other amazing members on here. Now moving onto your issue, you really don't post much details up so I will post a few steps, with step one being about information gathering. Please do all the steps and post back what each one requests and we'll go from there!

STEP ONE: Information Gathering
Does this issue happen with IE and Chrome both alike? Meaning the same pages and exact same issue, or does the pages/issue come and go? Also have you tried Firefox as well? Firefox uses a bit of a different connection structure, hence the special question. But please follow the below steps to provide me with some more information I need to better assist you! Thanks.STEP TWO: MiniToolBox
  • At this point and time I'd like you to get the utility MiniToolBox and run it with the following checked items.
  • Flush DNS
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP Configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
  • List Installed Programs

After you've selected just the above items, please then hit GO. Once it's done running, which normally doesn't take too long, it will have a text or log file pop up. Please copy/paste that into a reply.
STEP THREE: Security Check
Please download Security Check. Once finished, please 'Right Click' on the downloaded file and select 'Run as administrator' from the context menu. Once opened, please press any key (example being the space bar). This will run for a short while and then open up a text file. Please copy and paste the results of this file into a reply on here.STEP FOUR: Temp File Cleaner
As a good rule of thumb, I like to have a good clean up of junk files and temp files before performing too much work on a machine. However before you download and run the program, please make sure you save all work and close out of all programs accept your browser (which also will need to be closed down after the download, before running the program).

Now that we've saved and closed out of all your applications/programs, please download Temp File Cleaner (TFC). Once that is done, close out of all your open applications/programs and then please 'Right Click' and select Run As Administrator from the Context Menu. Please let this run, uninterrupted. Once it's finished, it may ask you to reboot your machine - If it does, please allow it to reboot at this time and after Windows loads back up move on to the next step. If it does not require a reboot, please move on to the next step now.
Once you've done these four steps, please post back with ALL the requested information and how the machine is doing now (although we did light repairs so far, it may have done the trick so please check).

First of all thanks for the reply.
It happens with almost every browser. I've used Firefox, Opera, IE10 and more but still the same problem. Second thing is that I don't know why I can't access BleepingComputer.com. It says you are not allowed. So, if there is any other way........

Alright I have a few programs you have installed I'd like to discuss real fast:
  • CyberGhost VPN - Do you actively use this and would like to keep it? If so, can you verify it's disabled while we test? Furthermore if you don't need it, uninstall it.
  • Internet Download Manager - Based on your Hosts file, I'm assuming you added the lines to block this from reaching out for updates or a crack did (unless I'm mistaken and you legally purchased it). I'd remove this unless it's truly key/needed.
  • Java Auto Updater - This is just a heads up but Java will install Ask and other junkware when it updates through the auto updater. Keep an eye out for all the stuff it installs, as they may slow things down a lot!
CURRENT STATUS: Quick Check On Current Status
As the MiniToolBox did reset a few settings with regards to your internet connection, I'd like to know how your systems running and if you are still having the same issue. Also want to verify you ran TFC on the machine, correct? Please post back with the results/status.

On a side note, I see a lot of unexpected shut downs in your log. Do you currently experience any BSOD's or times where the system locks up or possibly just shuts down?

Did you properly purchase the previous IDM? As for your power outages, ok that makes sense. Was just checking up on those! Anyway I will post more shortly, once I am at my office (on cell now).

Well illegal downloads can cause chaos, however for right now please just run through the following steps and we'll go from there.

STEP FIVE: Adware, Junkware and Browser HiJack Check
  • Please download a fresh copy of AdwCleaner from HERE.

WARNING: Before continuing on, please save and close out of all your open windows and programs! This is because AdwCleaner will close out of many programs and processes, as well as ask you to reboot the system.

Once the file has been downloaded, please execute/run the program as follows...
  • Windows XP: Double click the program while using an Administrator account.
  • Windows Vista, 7, 8: Right click on the file and select Run as administrator from the context menu.
Once the program window is open, please click on the button labelled Scan. Once the scan is complete, please click on Clean. This will run through the process of removals and have multiple prompts or windows pop up, in which you need to click OK on. This will cause your machine to reboot, so do not be alarmed. Once the machine has successfully rebooted, the results or log will open up as a text file - Please copy and paste this into a response on here. STEP SIX: Windows Repair Utility
  • Please download Windows Repair (AIO - Portable) and go to the 2nd from last tab labeled Start Repairs. Once on this tab, please select the button Start. The warning that pops up can be followed or not, however sometimes running those at this time can be non beneficial or further worsen the issues.

Inside of here, please check all of the following items:
    • Register System Files
    • Repair Windows Firewall
    • Repair Internet Explorer
    • Repair Hosts File
    • Remove Policies Set By Infections
    • Repair Winsock & DNS Cache
    • Remove Temp Files
    • Repair Proxy Settings
    • Repair File Associations
    • Ignore drop down list, just select the parent.
  • Restore Important Windows Services
  • Set Windows Services To Default At Start
Once the proper items have been selected, please click on Start. If the program requests you to reboot your machine after running, please allow it to do so. Once you've rebooted please see if your issue persists and post back with the results and any errors/changes you notice.

I wouldn't jump that far ahead just yet, haha.

STEP SEVEN: Open DNS Setup
Please setup your IPv4 DNS settings to use Google's Open DNS. To do this, please follow the instructions found HERE. Once that is setup, please reboot your computer and see if any changes in your issues occur. STEP EIGHT:
Provided issue persists, please power cycle (turn off for 10 seconds, then turn on) your Modem and Router. Once this is done, please test the connection on your machine again. If issue persists, then please place a call with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and have them look into possible routing issues or limitations on your account. Please bring up the issue with reaching BleepingComputer specifically, and push them a bit to give you a reason and resolve it. They will likely try to pass on the blame, don't just let them - Push back a bit and demand a solution. Post back with the results and a recap of what they said here.
If all these fail, I do have some more steps we can try, which take a bit too much time to write up and guide you through at this time - As I am at my place of work. Sorry! Hopefully one of those does resolve the issue however.
