Purchased 2nd hand HP Deskjet 612C Printer, 2002 issue.
I have re-inked Cartridge but all seems in order with exception that nothing appears on page. Could jets be plugged with old dried ink. I have also been told that some cartridges have printer head in cartridge and might be damaged and that some cartridges cannot be re-inked.

Howdy:

Very good possibility the wrong ink was used in the cartridge thus plugging up the heads..

Also, most of the newer printers use a coding right on the print head that shows the level of the ink in the cartridge..

When the cartridge is empty, even if you re-fill it, it won't recognize that fact but you should get an "out of ink" message..

Suggest you try the proper cartridges and see if that does the trick!!
