Hi all

I'm using Lenovo laptop with windows 7 professional x64bit.
It's very slow on startup and sometimes giving me a black screen after windows logon but eventualy comes right.
Sometimes it also freezes and i can't to anything. then need to take out the battery to startup again.
I have got AVG 2013 with pc tune up, but startup still too slow.
Can you please help? is there something wrong with my laptop. Bought it 2years ago and giving me headaches.
I am not very good with computer programs.. hope you can help :bashhead: :help:
Thanx in advance
Barbara

Hi :welcome:

Let's take a closer look to your startup.

Get autoruns by Sysinternals from here

Download, Save and Run the program by right clicking and Run As Admin.
Wait until it completes scanning. A notice Ready should appear in the left lower corner.
Go to File -> Save -> Filetype *.txt and name it.

Attach the file to your reply.

Yes, sorry. My mistake - I should provide a direct link to standalone app, not to a zipped file.

Unzip it and please run autoruns.exe.

Autorun app is the same as autorun.exe - probably you have hiding known filetypes extensions turned on.

Please make sure that you saved it as a txt file, it shouldn't take so much space there.
Follow directly my instructions about this in post #2.

Hi,

Let's take a look...

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.
Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options:
  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices (Only Problems)
  • List Minidump Files
Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply.

MiniToolBox won't affect anything with your router. Run it and post the resulting report :)
