The drives seems to be fine so I just wondered.
I found an old chkdsk log, mind you I think the chkdsk 'fix' cause the problem.
It does list some of the things it did, but no file names given IIRC so probably not much help.
I mean I basicaly get the missing hal.dll error, the file is on the drive though, I doubt it is corrupt,
I have a backup which will have hal.dll on it, I guess I can compare them.
However I believe it will be more of a case of it not finding the file.
I am looking at the drive using Linux and it only shows one partition C:, the should be a D: too
but Linux might not be able to detect it as I think it is a different file system on D:
I guess I need a dos disk os come other disc that will allow me to look at the drive?
Any suggestions?
I think there may be something called Bart PE? I have no windows XP disc, (pre-installed).
