My mother's computer has a few problems, and due to the great service I have received from this site before, I decided to come back for more help.

So, the first problem is that there is a single pixel sized bright red dot just off center on my mother's computer screen (we will call it my screen, because I'll be the one following instructions for her). It came like that, so I don't know if it was made wrong or if it's something that can be fixed?

She uses Avast!, like me, and the boot-time scan found a Malware-gen and having had a Trojan-gen before I know it's probably harder to get rid of than moving it to the chest.

Her computer can be very slow, VERY slow. Turning the computer on takes forever.

She also never installed needed drivers that she should have when she got the computer. That could contribute to some stuff. Not like I understand that stuff, but.... XD

Hi there lets have a little look see

Download OTL to your Desktop
Secondary link www.itxassociates.com/OT-Tools/OTL.exe
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

    Posted Image
  • Select All Users
  • Select LOP and Purity
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

    netsvcs
    BASESERVICES
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    c:\program files (x86)\Google\Desktop
    c:\program files\Google\Desktop
    dir "%systemdrive%\*" /S /A:L /C
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Attach both logs
