God I hate Windows 8!!!!

Okay I have done something that even by my standards is dumb.

I hated having to sign in to W8 each time I booted up the PC so found a way of disabling the sign in. I then deleted my MS account.

For some stupid reason I decided to sign out tonight and now of course I cannot get back in. I have tried to retrieve my account, it says it does not exist, I tried to create a new account with the same e-mail, it says that account is not valid.

What can I do?

So frustrating, it has taken me almost 10 days to set the whole thing up as I had it in XP and I was so pleased and now it has ended in disaster.

I would recommend just making a 'Local Account' for now. Make it administrator and then go from there. So if possible, try and do that. Local accounts don't require password, you can also use a Autologon program to have your system automatically log in (this is the way you're supposed to do it, haha).

What options do you have on the 'first screen'? Also do you have your installation or windows repair disks?

It was a simple solution! Because I deleted the sign in when I switched it back on it worked! Doh!

Glad you solved that, that way. I got snared into the Win 8/Skydrive/Xbox (it's a music tile in Metro--I don't have an Xbox) and it changed my PC login to the Windows/hotmail one. I read these sites that said about creating another account and all that, and deleting the Microsoft one and I ended up with no way to log in to my old account which make my blood run cold. It wouldn't let me sign in with either my old account or the Microsoft account, just the two new ones.

I did a system restore though, selecting a restore point before I got tangled in the SkyDrive and all that. Then, all is well. Through the years, I think the most useful functions I have found in Windows are the Ctrl-Alt-Del to use Task Manager, and System Restore. Whether I do something stupid or have a crippling virus, the combination of knowing those two things -- how they work -- can fix a multitude or problems.
