USB Data transfer to Kyosera JAX S1300

I got a third party USB cable for my Kyocera JAXS1300 and it my Windows 7 laptop won't recognize my phone. I saw Kyocera makes a USB cable for that, is the problem maybe the cable? If so I am going to just return it for a refund. The Cable I am using a WishBone cable I got a CVS.
