Hello,

So I've had my computer for nearly 1 year now. Love it. State-Of-the-Art. I've had issue with my original OS (Windows 8) so I switched to Win 7. I'm looking to backk all of my data up. There is school work here. Personal file. Games etc. I looked at a topic linked from the Avast! webforums on this stuff and ran the tool for backing up. Gave me an error to the effect of "The program is for Windows XP and Vista only" Then closed. Any other decent programs.

Well there is a ton of backup programs out there that would work. From paid to free items, however some of my favorites are as follows (with quick details). . .

• Ghost Server: This is from Symantec and allows me to use a different PC in my house to back up my computer to through the network. Then if my computer needs to be reloaded, I simply boot up to the network and load that full backup/image back on my PC. So we're right back to where I was, programs and files installed and setup. (I also do like the Ghost Backup, though it can be a bit finicky).
• Acronis: This allows for incremental, nightly backups of all new files (without backing up everything each time, much faster). It also can allow me to have another weekly, full backup of the whole system. This is one of my favorite types of setups ever!
• SyncBack (Free or Paid): This is a great way to backup files/folders. It's not so great at getting a FULL system backup though, which to be honest is still very useful and I end up using more often.
• Can happily list more if you need, but those are my Go To's. . .
