I was recently using my computer (internet browsing) when all of a sudden the screen turned a tint of purple/red.
My initial thought was that the monitor had broken so I tried the monitor on a different computer and to my suprise it worked fine.
I thought then that it must be the graphics card, so I fitted in my backup graphics card. Again I was still getting the red/purple screen.
this tint is even visible on startup and in the bios.
i was wondering if anyone could give me any guidance as to what is causing this as I now have no idea what it could be.
thankyou

Did you use the monitor under the same conditions and same length of time as it was being used on the PC where the problem occurred? Even using the same setup, ac receptacle, etc.? Did you have anything covering the vents of your monitor or was in perhaps in a closed in space compared to where you tried it? How is the monitor? Any strange noises when this happened? Something like a frying sound or a loud snap?

Probably left out some questions. :tazz:
