Ok, so the question is if HP replaced the drive, or did you do it manualy? If HP replaced it, it should have the partition on it.

I would suggest contacting HP though, anyways.

My recovery CD's worked when the hard drive was installed, because that's what we used. Anyway, last night I tried the disks again. After disk 1 ejected, the computer restarted itself. Also, while watching more closely as the computer checked for things, I noticed it said "hard drive not found."

Any ideas? Thanks.

Open up the case and reset the IDE cable connection to the hdd and the mobo..

Also, see if the hdd is being recognized in BIOS!!
