Hello,

I am receiving the following error when connecting to certain websites (e.g. www.tumblr.com[I can view people's tumblr pages but I cannot visit that specific adress],all eu.battle.net links/connections):

The connection was interrupted

The connection to eu.battle.net was interrupted while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I have tried a lot of things from various forums, but nothing works. I have tried connecting while my ESET Smart Security 6's firewall and protection is disabled. I have disabled all proxy's. I have flushed my dns. The problem can't be with my router, because I have tried connecting through my cellphone and I still get the same error. I get the above mentioned error on all web browsers on my pc(Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

MJ

Try running these 2 items and see what that does,

Copy and paste the text in the code box below into Notepad.
@Echo off
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop.
Double-click flush.bat file to run it. Your computer will reboot.

Note: For Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click flush.bat and select "Run as Administrator" .

Next

Clean out your temporary internet files and temp files.

Download TFC by OldTimer http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/TFC.exe to your desktop.

Double-click TFC.exe to run it.

Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator

TFC will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.

* Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process.
* Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two.
* Please let TFC run uninterrupted until it is finished.

Once TFC is finished it should restart your computer. If it does not, please manually restart the computer yourself to ensure a complete cleaning.

I can connect to eu.battle.net just fine. I am having problems with :

https://eu.battle.ne...tml?hearthstone
https://eu.battle.ne...in-support.html
https://eu.battle.net/support/
https://eu.battle.ne...eation/tos.html
https://eu.battle.ne...n/&app=com-root
https://eu.battle.ne...rols/index.html
and of course, https://www.tumblr.com/ and there probably are more battle.net links I can't connect to.

Also, I had the problem with tumblr.com from over a few months ago, I just gave up until now... I really want to be able to access https://eu.battle.ne...tml?hearthstone

*edit: I forgot about the "en" at the end. I can't connect to https://eu.battle.net/support/en/ or https://eu.battle.net/support/ , sorry if that was unclear.

Thanks again :)

OK.

I can access https://eu.battle.ne...tml?hearthstone I see it's the log in page.

As a test, that I always do, is boot the computer to the advanced boot options menu and select SafeMode with Networking.

Here's how

Restart the computer, during restart keep tapping the F8 Key, you will get a black screen with white letters, that's the advanced boot options menu. Use the arrow keys to select SafeMode with Networking, Hit enter.

Then see if you can connect to: https://eu.battle.ne...tml?hearthstone

Don't surf in this mode as no Anti Virus will be running.

It's a shot in the dark, if you can connect it just tells us some program is in the way causing issue, give it a shot never know..

It's most likely your Anti virus software / Firewall, check the windows Firewall too . You may end up having to uninstall the Anti Virus software, see if you can connect to those sites in normal mode.

Ok ESET is uninstalled and I can access the sites. I did not restart, do you need me to do something else before I restart?

*ESET SMART SECURITY 6

OK, So ESET is interfering with the connection we know that now. I'm not familiar with ESET there maybe a place to make exceptions to let those sites through. You can restart and see. Then you need to get the Anti Virus back on your system.
