Hello.

I have an ASUS laptop using Windows 7.

Two issues:

1. When I try to type on my keyboard it appears that sticky keys are dominant. When I press an "s" it goes to save - that sort of thing. I do not have sticky keys selected in Control Panel and am not pressing ctrl when I press a letter.

2. When I try to open a link (online or in a document) a new tab page opens, sometimes several new tab pages open.

The onscreen keyboard shows the Ctrl key as pressed.

I am suspecting some sort of virus or malware problem.

I use my laptop to take notes in class - making that a bit difficult.

Thanks for any help and direction you can give me.

Sincerely,
Steph K.

Try the Demo version of PassMark KeyboardTest

http://www.passmark....cts/keytest.htm

Download and Save it then run it. (Win 7/8 & Vista should right click and run as admin).

See if it doesn't tell you that the Ctrl key is stuck. If it is stuck you can try to work around it by remapping it.
Sharp Keys will do it even tho it says it only works on Win 2000 and XP
http://www.randyrant...rpkeys_211.html
Download the msi version and install it then click on the Shortcut on your desktop (Win 7/8 & Vista should right click and run as admin)
You will probably want to remap a seldom used key as a replacement. Perhaps Caps Lock.
