gateway laptop put new screen on now wont get me to start up menu

my laptop gateway MODEL NUMBER MS2291 i replaced the screen because it got cracked so as soon as i turn it on it comes on but will not let me to the start up menu

iv tried turning off and on and pushing f8 i believe and now all it does is pop up every now and then and say gateway with a bar at the bottom that looks like its loading pleasee help thank you all
