Can USB Flash Drives be "write-protected?" I have been trying to copy data from USB Flash Drive to My Documents. I keep getting message that it cannot be executed and to check to see if drive is "write protected".

If you are copying from the flash drive, you are reading from, not writing to the flash drive so write protection should not come into play at all.
