I borrowed my son's girlfriend's Kindle Fire to see if I would like one or not and I LOVE IT!

I was able to transfer 1 of my books to the Kindle Fire from my laptop and it worked just fine ... now, for some reason, my computer doesn't even recognize that I've connected the Kindle ... can't transfer any other books until my laptop recognizes the Kindle.

can anyone help me here?

Try this: Disconnect both, power both off, wait a few seconds, power both back on, reconnect and try again.

Apparently patience is not my strong suit, however, now that it recognizes the Kindle, I am unable to transfer the book from my program

I am using Calibre to sort/convert/store my books and it does not give me the option to move any of my books to the Kindle the way I was
able to move the first one.

Aaaaaaaargh!
