Hi I need some help dealing with my ping.Whats happening is when i had dial up it wasnt as choppy but still bad.now i have gotten a cable modem had it all hooked up and have roadrunner as my email and it runs even worse!!!!! Ihave no idea y its doin this so could someone tell me some things i could do to have it play better.....also i regularly defragment and cleanup my computer along with viruscans and spyware scans.

PING 640-999 Ms 60/
2.31 k/s 32.8/s
0.11 k/s 1.6/s
choke 0 10/
loss 0

I used these to try to make it run better but didnt work

cl_updaterate 60
cl_cmdrate 1

Hey try pcpitstop.com they have this ping analyser with heaps of tips! Also bring up your cl_cmdrate to aleast 30!!!!!! That could be your prob!!!!

dang, that IS bad...you must lag out all the time! if you are behind a router, you might need to open some ports up. you should have a port forwarding option in your router, and some modems have a passthrough config as well.

yea how do i open all my ports in the game cause i wanna c if it will work for me cause i play battlefield 1942 and i get like 65 fps which is great i never lag in there.just a little long loading time but could you tell me how to open all my ports?
