I am in need of some assistance in an attempt to remove all Viruses from this computer system...

So far, what I have done is run an Antivirus Scan outside of windows using Avast. I has found the majority of the virus files, but there still seems to be something messing with the files, like the proxy and the host file...

I have managed to reset it for now, but I am not sure if rebooting will make it go back to the previous settings causing the internet not to work...

I have done a HiJackThis Scan and I selected all files that were missing as well as some entries in the host file...

Another thing is that my host file was messed up...

There was 1 file called hosts.new and one called hosts...

The hosts was hidden and the hosts.new seemed to be in 'charge'

I removed the hosts.new and made back a proper hosts file...

As I said before....I don't know if rebooting will make it go back to the previous setting...

A HiJackThis Log file is attached...

Hi there Hijackthis will not give sufficient data to determine the problem

Download OTL to your Desktop
Secondary link
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

  • Select All Users
  • Select LOP and Purity
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

    netsvcs
    BASESERVICES
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    c:\program files (x86)\Google\Desktop
    c:\program files\Google\Desktop
    dir "%systemdrive%\*" /S /A:L /C
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Attach both logs

THEN

Download aswMBR.exe ( 4.5mb ) to your desktop.
Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it Click the "Scan" button to start scan

On completion of the scan click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply
