I have windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), just reinstalling (again - new ssd died )
I've just installed the amazinf QTTabBar, and it reminded me of something I'm not certain on.
So! Have you ever installed an application, which adds a toolbar? This is quite common in IE, but also applies to Windows Explorer.
Have you ever had an Explorer Toolbar entry created, that doesn't "do anything" ?!
I use CCleaner (and autoruns, and tune-up startup monitor, and registry editors, and resource editors) to try and make windows 'behave' (cut the crap, and configure the $hit out of it).
CCleaner allows me to disable 'IE toolbars', but I actually wanna hide them (it annoys me to have an option, that when selected... does nothing), if no adverse behaviour is noticed, I'll delete the disabled entries, and be happier.
My question is this:
Do Windows and Internet explorer lookup the same toolbar info, from the same place(s) in the registry?
I am assuming that the toolbar entries visible in Windows Explorer (View > Toolbars > ...) are intended (and provide functionality) for IE. Perhaps some have common behaviour (seamless integration of web/file browsing is the road we're travelling down, right?) but I wondered if (for example) anyone had this kind of issue, or NOT (maybe the 'avast! Online security' toolbar works on some peeps' windows installs (non-ultimate/64/etc).
Finally, If anyone is using the QTTabbar shell-extension, do you know what the QT Management Toolbar DOES? (http://docs.huihoo.c...barmanager.html)
about to attempt disabling that also.
Then, mre important things, like BlackViper Service Configurations and sorting that bloody 'context menubar' (remove totally unnecessary perma-burn options, and add missing but desired buttons, like toggle nav/pane...)
