In your opinions are Intels worth the extra money or can I get a good enough gaming rig if I get an AMD? I notice AMDs do cost less. Is any notable performance drop? I am looking into an i7 but if I can get an good AMD equivalent for a good price and still have a good gaming rig I might get an AMD.

The AMD Vs Intel question will go on for ever and in all honesty most people can answer their own question on which brand they should choose, what should be considered primarily is your budget, the compatibility of your present hardware + what do you need from the CPU, you do not need an i7 or the 8 core ability of the AMD FX-9590 etc for gaming, CPU benchmarks to help you are available here

I also plan on using FRAPS and using Vent or Team Speak while gaming, I need to take that into consideration. I also would like to have my computer be some what future proof my rig. Any input is welcome.

Given my own PC is simply OP. I can say this.

If you're looking to record with Fraps, An i7 3770 or bettter will help. Also, from what've I've seen in YT videos of Total War Rome II, a GTX 660 Ti Overclocked will help a lot. I think Docm77 was getting 200? FPS while recording with an i7 3690X (I think). My Current spec list will record and play any game

CPU: Intel i7 3700 @ 3.6 Ghz with Trubo of 3.9 Ghz (Overclocked a little)
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333Mhz
GPU: GTX 760 DC2-OC

I have looked at similar rigs from CyberpowerPC, its going to be a matter of catching a good sale.

I am planning on buying from CyberPower PC or a similar company to get a gaming rig. I would rather buy prebuilt tbh. So I am limited to the choice they have. But I do have some good guidelines.

Gday.
If you would like to post a link to the parts you select, we will be happy to look at it. Finding out the brand/model of the PSU is important as often supplied ones are not the best.

My selected AMD rig, around 300 cheaper then Intel rigs from Cyberpower. Can this run everything I am looking to do?

It is easier to buy pre built but is quite costly. They do not give the brand of the PSU. I would also need to know the exact brand of GPU.Your build, without taxes or shipping, click on the details tab at top. > http://www.cyberpowe...ht_Core&ref=add

Subtotal: $1,369.00 Can't see how to save, do you need to register? For your HDDs, I would go for a 1GB WD black (secondrive, instead of the 3GB) and then use the 2GB for storage.

The other rig I was looking at with similar features had an Intel i7, this AMD processor makes the rig 300 dollar cheaper.

Ok.
The AMD configuration will do the job for your, but I would make the following changes.
OS, windows Home Premium 64bit.
Remove, CASUPGRADE: 12in Liquid Neon Thunder Pattern Light
FA_HDD: Vigor iSURF II Hard Disk Drive Cooling System
FAN: Asetek 510LC 120mm Liquid Cooling CPU Cooler , this will void the CPU warranty and will be noisier, choose the stock cooler.
2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III .change to 1TB WD black
3TB (3TBx1) SATA-III change to 2TB WD Black.
IUSB: Internal USB 3.0 4-Port Hub
VIDEO: AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GBbetter and if you ever use Adobe software you will need CUDA, GTX, 660ti, 760, 770 . >http://www.bit-tech....r9-270-review/6

Look carefully at the optical drive selection and the supplied PSU, I would definitely want to know the brand/model. it could b Deablo or sunbeam.

I am not concerned with CPU warranty, Cyberpower PCs come with there own warranty. As for the lights, that looks cool, I am planning on duel colored lighting, trying to go for a Red, White and Blue color scheme and I am upgrading my 2.0 to 3.0 for USB. As for the Windows 7, I am trying to get XP mode so I have a VM to run older games along with my know one. My HDs, are for more space
