Windows 7 Ultimate Lenovo laptop - I just dl'd and installed Avira antivirus, and when I launched Firefox, I saw there were Avira tool bars along the top, and it had an ugly flashing ad about cleaning PC registry or similar. So I Google "How to remove Avira from Firefox" and it returned answers one of which had toll free phone numbers for help with Avira. So I called and was surprised by a guy willing to talk me through to remove the toolbar. This involved a Safe Mode boot, and a cmd line execution of something called inetcpl.cpl which produced a dialog with an Advanced tab at the far right which I was told to click, followed by a Reset Internet Explorer towards the bottom which I was told to click. We lost the phone connection at that point so I recalled and got a different person who went into an unintelligible ramble that I finally realized was a sales pitch for security software of some kind - and I totally lost it, gave them supreme [bleep] and hung up knowing I could get GTG to handle this properly.. and hi..here I am. Can you please give me a hand here?
Thanks,
/nick
