Windows caches thumbnail images and many other files ...
It also keeps logs of files that were opened or modified in an event log
I have only been able to find the unlisted directory in XP ... not 7 .

Some stuff here: C:\Users\rrkurtz\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
Also prefetch stuff here: C:\windows\Prefetch

I found thumbnail cache under Thumbs.db name and in the folder you mentioned above .
