I have both a desktop and a laptop. Both use Mozilla Thunderbird as the enail client. They are both set up identical. The desktop works fine but I cannot send email from my laptop. If I try, I get a message to enter my password, when I do I get another message saying that the password is invalid. I've done this a dozen times or more and have gotten the same result. I have uninstalled the client and reinstalled it. I have completely run anti-malware programs and anti-virus programs. The laptop worked fine for a year or so and just recently started this problem. I haven't downloaded or loaded any software. Any suggestions?

Have you tried using Windows' "System Restore" to roll Windows back to a previous state when your computer was functioning correctly? It allows you to undo system changes without affecting your personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos.

I did a system restore to the oldest restore point (September 20th) and it didn't correct the problem. I omly use the laptop when I'm on a trip and not usually in between. Consequently, I'm not sure what date I last used the email. It could have been before September 20th. Any suggestions?

Other than a System Restore or restoring your last backup, no, sure don't. Hopefully someone else will be along soon with something else to try.
