I have tried the steps to recovery using f9 key . It takes me to a command prompt which is supposed to give me options but it skips to a screen with an asus logo and then just sits there. I found discussions about disabling the boot booster but that is nowhere to be found in the Bios Boot tab menu. Any ideas???

If you have followed the exact steps as detailed here but had no success the following reasons are possible, the recovery partition has been deleted or is corrupt or the HDD itself has problems.

Couple of questions if I may;
Why do you wish to use the recovery partition, is the computer not booting up for example.
Is there any data on the HDD that you would like to try and back up.
