Just had this happen to me and now and ive been told its a serious virus

Go to the Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal forum, read the first post and follow instructions.

Come back here once you get a clean bill of health if you still have problems.

Since it's browser based ransomware, you can just disable JavaScript, than exit the tab/page.

In Chrome:

Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Content Settings

Click "Disable JavaScript".

Exit the tab/page.

Reenable JavaScript.

Tell me if you have any problems.
