I have a Dell Dimension 8400 and unable to boot up. Receiving Alert message: Previous attempts at booting this system have failed at checkpoint (lthr). I tried another cable between tower and monitor and that doesn't change the foregoing Alert message. Do you have any suggestions?

Have you tried this topic HERE?
Seems to be a known issue with Dell computers back from 2009.
Let me know if any of the suggested fixes work but I suspect a USB or monitor issue.
