its running a little quicker. defenitly better but there still seems to be a lot of lagging if i try to do two things at the same time. the audio playback is still terrible and there still a lot of interupts showing on process explorer. even if itunes is the only thing open the audio is bad it plays clear for a bit but then it starts to skip and when it skips there seems to be cpu spikes usually interupts ive been trying to watch process explorer to see whats going on but i cant tell.

I don't think that is malware related. Maybe a hardware problem, say your sound card... you might open a topic in the XP technical forum and explain the problem. Someone there may have a solution.
How is Internet Explorer now?

I have asked for someone from the tech area to have a look. Hopefully it won't be too long.

Hello again
One of my colleagues has just reminded me of a particular infection that does cause audio problems. We have in fact checked for it in our earlier scans but in a general sort of way. His reminder makes me thing that perhaps we should run a more specific search just to make sure it's not your machine's problem.
SOoo...
Please run (FRST) Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Type the following in the edit box after "Search:".
rpcss.dll
Click Search button and post the log (Search.txt) it makes to your reply.

They all come up clean so I think we can discount that one as a cause.
Back to a technical problem as the most likely problem.
