Hello,
My problem is, I have a HP Officejet 6500 wireless, Model E709n
I've always used it wired with a usb wire.
I haven't had any problems till recently.
All my ink is filled.
I went to print something and it wouldn't print.
It wouldn't print from the glass, thru the automatic or thru the computer.
Yet it will print me out test sheets and says all is working.

I removed the usb wire, power cord and uninstalled the printer.
I turned off the computer, than turned it back on.
I put the usb wire and power cord back on, reinstalled the printer.
Turned the printer back on, and still don't print.

Only thing I got was a fax test sheet.....

Can you please help me with this.
Thank-You,
John

Another thing I did, I hooked up another printer -
HP-j4680 to see if there was a change.
This printer didn't print either.

Now that's strange, both all in ones, printers don't print.

Hello john god

Regarding the initial problem with the HP Officejet 6500, had you made any hardware or software changes previously to the problem starting.

I removed the usb wire, power cord and uninstalled the printer.
I turned off the computer, than turned it back on.
I put the usb wire and power cord back on, reinstalled the printer.

To install a printer you should install the software first and only connect the USB cable when you get an onscreen message asking you to do so, with this in mind try;
Uninstalling all HP printer software.
Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the printers USB cable from the computer.
Restart the computer and install the printer drivers.
Only connect the printers USB cable when you get an onscreen message asking you to do so.
In Control Panel - Devices and Printers check that the HP Officejet 6500 has a green tick against it to confirm that it is the default printer.

Let us know how it goes.

After you re-installed the original printer did you check that it was set as the default printer? Or, when printing a document, make sure that specific printer is selected as the printer to use in the print dialog box?

You can check if it is set as the default printer (at least in Windows 7) by clicking Start, Devices and Printers. You should see your printer listed there. The default printer will have a green check on it. If it is not there, right click the printer you want to use and click "set as default printer".

If you are just clicking the print icon on a document without viewing the print settings it will try to print to the default printer. If your printer is not selected as default, it will not print.

Yes, I did all that was asked of me to do.

After I connected the second printer,
I checked to make sure it was set as my default printer.

I know my wife's printer works.
So I guess I'll try and connect that one, to see if it works or not.

The first one,(6500).I had that one connected for (2-3) years without a problem.
Than (1) day I went to print and all I got was a blank sheet.
This happened without warning.
