Yes I would recommend Avast (I am biased I use it)

A few things to note with Avast to make it work better :

The Avast Online Security addon can cause problems on some systems, so it may need to be disabled in IE. I myself do not use it as it does not play well with IE11 yet
To harden the system even more set the hardened mode to aggressive

Then any unknown or low prevalence programme will generate a small popup. If you are happy with the programme then click add and exclusion and the programme will run

Isn't it dangerous to have 2 antivirus programs running.

Should I uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials if I am
to use Avast?
