Hi people,

I just thought to explain simple reasons why you shouldn't attempt to hack a mobile. It's the same as computers, its illegal. Also, asking for help about this on these forums, well lets just say NO ONE WILL HELP YOU as Geekstogo.com DOES NOT partake in illegal activities and never will. Also hacking a phone can also lead your phone to be bricked and busts your warranty on your phone.

This also includes Jail braking your phone (also known as unlocking)Bricked phones are good for throwing away.

I have also see a question on here how its against the TOU in this forum...... heres your answer:

Well. I dont agree with you.
I mean, i paid for the phone, and tbh i can do almost anything i want with it.
Also, why whould google lead something illegal?
As google leads AOSP (android open source project) which is pretty much the base for almost all roms, and you are required to root to install rom.

I personally run rooted custom firmware for the things im able to do, and i know the risks of rooting and flashing and how to clear normal bricks (hard bricking is really hard nowdays) and im aware of the warranty thing. But im fine with it.

Panda, I think what Kiwi meant here is that members cannot ask for help here when it comes to "hacking" from a smartphone, or hacking in a smartphone. Like installing a RAT, Keylogger, etc. Which is obvious, GeeksToGo doesn't support hacking and malware and never will. However, he's a bit right about the "jailbreak" and "root" part. Depending on your carrier, your warranty can be voided if you jailbreak or root your device. It is usually included in your contract with your carrier, so you have to read it carefully before proceeding to do a such operation. Other than that, I think that GeeksToGo don't mind if people request assistance for jailbreaking or rooting here. I'll ask the Staff tonight what's GeeksToGo position on  this.

It was just how he spoke about the bricking and jailbreaking i didnt evrn think he whould be talking about keyloggers etc.
Also While i dont know much about carrier things, i dont think its allowed to root phones in general, warranty will be void from any kind of flashing, i still dont find it illegal. Ofc u do it at ur own risk tho

The question here I think is: is it legal to talk about such things, and ask for assistance with it on GeeksToGo? I'll ask to the Staff tonight about it, and post back with an answer, this way we'll know. Other than that, anything that is hacking related or malware related (like creating, spreading, etc.) isn't allowed on GeeksToGo. The only "malware"-related thing allowed on GeeksToGo is to get malware removed from a system by the trained GeeksToGo helpers, that's it.

Rooting or jailbreaking a phone has been ruled legal several times, by several courts.There is absolutely nothing illegal about gaining root access to your phone.
