Hello everyone. I recently added a new machine to our work network. Got the new machine going and sharing etc. Last night a restart was done and we lost connection to our LAN
Still able to connect to the internet and other computers. But no one can get to the new computer. We have a Netgear router that is the DHCP server and DNS proxy. I checked the Avast firewall and everything is enabled for the LAN. The windows firewall says it is being managed by Avast. Any ideas any one ??

You probably forgot to join the computer to a local network and define it as home, workplace, or public. It's easy to miss this.

Thanks....I went and double check and the machine is on our workgroup, also shows the connection to be the local area network. I am going to try changing from the on board adapter to an add on card. This same machine used to be able to be accessed.

Finally found out that I had a bad avast installation. Removed it and reloaded avast....problem solved.
