Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor supporting HT Technology 3.20 GHz, 512K Cache, 800 MHz FSB

Which particular model is the above CPU, this is important as we need to make sure that the two processors are compatible with the socket on the MB (motherboard)

What are the brand and model name or number of the MB.

Based on the specs that you have provided the Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8200 is the better of the two processors.

Sorry but we need the CPU information as what I am finding says that there is no P4 CPU clocked a 3.2GHz on the compatible list.

Is the MB here the same as yours.

I don`t see a P4 CPU that matches the information that you provided earlier, see here

Hello loc122

Your MB mysteriously changed in between posts :whistling:

The information that I have found for the MB that you have now told us that you have show that the Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8200 is not supported, please see here

Q8200 - AT80580PJ0534MN / AT80580PJ053HN / EU80580PJ0534M / EU80580PJ0534MN /

Q8200, 2.33 GHz, M1, 95W, 45nm, 1333 MHz FSB, Yorkfield 1.2 1.0 Not supported

In all honesty for such a minimal gain I would stick with what you have, an example of what is shown on the list to be compatible with your MB can be found here

Can you not return the Q8200 CPU.

You are most welcome and please feel free to continue asking as many questions as you like but on the open forums :thumbsup:

The Gigabyte Z77X-D3H has been around for almost two years now so unless you get it for a budget price and have access to a compatible CPU and Ram also at a budget price you would be better off looking for a later MB, here is a review of the MB which was positive at the time.

Do you mean the same brand of MB (MSI)

Please tell us the following;
Is this your MB or one that you have acquired.
The exact model of MB.
The CPU details.
The Ram details.
The PSU (power supply unit) details.
Anything that you have tried already.

Some information that you may find helpful can be found here

Please answer each question that I ask;

Please tell us the following;
Is this your MB or one that you have acquired.
The exact model of MB.
The CPU details. We need to know this so that we can check that the version of BIOS is compatible.
The Ram details. Has the Ram previously been used with this MB.
The PSU (power supply unit) details.
Anything that you have tried already. So that we do not make suggestions that you have already tried.
