Last night while using Foxit Reader (PDF), Adobe PS5, Firefox 26, IE 8 I appeared to have a crash. I use IE 8 for ebay for my wife. I use Firefox for myself. I was editing a PDF file, copying pages into PS5 to make images.

Everything quit working, so I started closing things down. Some shut down on their own, others I closed, then restarted the system.

Firefox acted like a new install when I reopened it - bookmarks completely gone and it ask if I wanted to import from other browser. I dug around and found the backup from a day earlier and replaced the bookmarks.

Quick launch toolbar gone. Can not add it back - error it says "Cannot create toolbar". I checked and the quick launch folder is still in the system.

Restore does not work - no matter what date I choose, it says "unable to complete - no changes were made". This does not surprise me because the restore has not worked in a couple years. It always says the same thing.

Any help as to what happened and how to restore the quick launch for my wife would be appreciated.

Hello,

Yes, I did. I tried everything on that page and none of it worked. Still can not add the quick launch.
