mouse wheel dont work

Hi guys,

I have an old notebook and I attach a ps2 mouse with wheel. The mouse is ok (left and right click works) but the wheel does not work when trying to scroll up or down.

Any ideas everyone?

Specs of notebook:

Thinkpad 600E (PII, 96MB memory, 6GB HDD), with original preloaded windows 98 and Ibm software.
