Sigma Tel Audio Not Recognized by SONAR 6XL Home Studio

When I install SONAR 6XL Home Studio I get a message indicating that Sigma Tel Audio either "does not support the current audio format" or "is in use by another app/procedure"! If the sound card is not available to SONAR then I can't use any midi sounds/devices. Has anybody had the same or a similar problem?
