buying a new laptop, and 2 nearly identical systems have 1 key difference the networking card.

one has 1x1 intel 802.1ac and the other has 2x2 intel 802.1 bgn. Which is better?

I understand that ac has better Megabits per second, but isn't having 2 antennas and 2 streams in the 2 x 2 better?

I am really confused by this.
