Hi. :)

the only listed with a yellow exclamation is under "other devices" PCI Simple Communications Controller

Open up the Device Manager again as you did before right click on and select properties for the device that has a question mark on it >> Details.

Copy down the numbers after VEN(should be four of them) and those after DEV(again should be four) and post those please.

It shut down once about an hour ago. I had the internet open awaiting your next instruction and tried to look something up really quickly on you tube. FAIL.

OK, downloading the driver now.

Hi. :)

Just got the message: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installation"

Hmm, ok carry out the below for myself please(what else you posted is acknowledged)...

Scan with Speccy:

Please download the installer for Speccy from here to your desktop.

  • Double-click on spsetup125.exe to install the application >> follow the prompts >> deselect the option Automatically check for updates to Speccy(the others leave as is per your preference) >> Install
  • Deselect View Release notes but leave Run Speccy vN.NN selected >> Finish
  • Speccy will now automatically scan your system, this may take some time etc.
  • Once it has completed scanning >> click on File >> Save as Text File... >> select the Desktop as the save destination >> Save
  • Close Speccy.
  • Open the notepad file you have just saved...
  • Scroll down to the heading Operating System >>next to Serial Number:
  • Delete/remove the actual serial number as prudent not to have that displayed in a open forum for security reasons etc.
  • Post the Speccy log in your next reply for my review.

Hi. :)

Regarding the Driver update issue, no wonder you were unable to install from the first link I provided...

As at present it appears your machine has the incorrect one installed for the actual Motherboard and hence I gave you that one going from the VEN/DEV numbers I asked you for prior etc

So please download and install this one:-

Management Engine Driver for Intel 3

Any problems with that one, click here >> then on the Check your system for updates button >> follow the prompts.

Let myself know the outcome in your next reply please and we will then go from there, thank you

I downloaded, opened the zip file and clicked on set up and followed the prompts. It seems to have not had a problem?

Good...the driver should be fine now and no further action is required with regard to that.

Scan with Panda Cloud Cleaner:

Please download Panda Cloud Cleaner and save to your desktop.

Alternate downloads are here and here.

Hi. :)

Lets deal with the results of the scan, some are what as known as false positive detections and others pertain to remnants of the Coupon related adware.

Download the attached panda.bat(see below) to your desktop:

Now double-click on panda.bat to run the batch file. It will self-delete when completed.

Next:

Now use your computer for thirty minutes or so and try You-Tube etc...

--------------

In the event your machine suddenly reboots whilst watching something on You Tube; lets rule out a corrupt Flash Player installation as follows:-

Download and run the Uninstaller Tool from here << scroll down to 1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player

Then re-download the Adobe Flash Player installer from here >> Deselect the option:

Yes, install Google Chrome as my default browser and Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer.

Then click on Install now >> save the file to your desktop and reinstall etc.

Try You Tube again...

--------------

Next:

Let myself know the outcome in your next reply please and we will then go from there, thank you

ok, did all that and found a 45 min you tube video to play while I got the kids to bed. Came down to find it had shut down. So I followed your directions for uninstalling and reinstalling flash. Then watched two 45 min videos and then about another hour worth of videos and it just shut down on me again. I'm not sure if watching youtube is the source of the problem but it does seem to be a potential trigger?

Hi. :)

ok, did all that and found a 45 min you tube video to play while I got the kids to bed. Came down to find it had shut down. So I followed your directions for uninstalling and reinstalling flash. Then watched two 45 min videos and then about another hour worth of videos and it just shut down on me again. I'm not sure if watching youtube is the source of the problem but it does seem to be a potential trigger?

Indeed feasible when viewing You Tube and your machine is under load that is a trigger for something but not the actual root cause I think...

Anyway certainly a improvement but ultimately not the end result we were both looking for eh. OK I have reviewed the whole topic again and that took some reading!

Levity aside...

It is possible a memory module(s)/RAM(random access memory) could be faulty(failing) and or not fully seated in the motherboard slot; or a possible as of yet undetected overheating issue to name a few examples hardware related.

However I am actually leaning more towards the actual Operating System itself as a whole is damaged and so far everything I could identify be it malware and or software related plus some specifics relating to maintenance has been addressed successfully.

So with the aforementioned Operating System possibility in mind lets see if some specific repairs will improve the situation or not as follows...

Windows Repair (All In One):

Please download the installer for Windows Repair (All In One) from here to your desktop

Alternate downloads are here and here.

  • Double click on tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio_setup.exe >> when the installation window has loaded click on Next > >> follow the rest of the prompts for a default installation.
  • Once fully installed the below GUI(graphical user interface) will appear/load:-
Posted Image

  • Click on the Next tab >> and again until you reach Step 4. Then under the System Restore setting click on the Create tab.
  • Then after Restore point created at date/time is denoted >> click on Next >> Start.
  • Referring to the image below ensure the following are selected only(deselect/select to suit):-
Posted Image

  • Now click on the Start tab and the repair process will begin. Do not use your machine for anything else until the repairs are completed.
  • Upon completion your machine should automatically reboot, if it does not do so manually please.
Next:

Use your machine normally/try You Tube again etc...

In the event your machine does reboot unexpectedly, start it up again and carry out the below scan for myself straight away please.

Re-scan with Speccy:

Delete the last notepad file created when ran if still on your desktop, then empty the Recycle Bin.

  • Click on Start >> All Programs >> Speccy >> double click on Speccy
  • Speccy will now automatically scan your system, this may take some time etc.
  • Once it has completed scanning >> click on File >> Save as Text File... >> select the Desktop as the save destination >> Save
  • Close Speccy.
  • Open the notepad file you have just saved...
  • Scroll down to the heading Operating System >> next to Serial Number:
  • Delete/remove the actual serial number as prudent not to have that displayed in a open forum for security reasons etc.
  • Post the Speccy log in your next reply for my review.
Then:-

Click on Start >> Run...(or the Windows key and R together) to bring up the Run box and copy and paste in:

"C:\Program Files\Tweaking.com\Windows Repair (All in One)\Logs"

Click on OK >> a window named Logs will open. Right-click on the folder and select Send To >> Compressed (zipped) Folder

A zip file folder will appear in the window >> Click and hold on that folder and drag to your desktop. Attach the zip file in your next reply please.

Next:

In your next reply let myself know the outcome of the above repairs and only if the need post/attach the requested log and folder etc.
