I have a eHome IR Transceiver/Receiver and a Media Center Remote ,from a previous PC.

This receiver connects to a USB port and it is recognized in the Device Manager with the drivers, it says the device is working correctly there.

It's listed under Human Interface Devices as Microsoft eHome infrared transceiver, also in System Devices - as Consumer IR Devices.

I have a Hauppauge WinTV Tuner card.

Remote is not being detected by Windows Media Center or in WinTV app.
WinTv has an app IR Remote which is being started, also a config tool which does detect the remote.

I have Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit with Media Center.

If anyone has any ideas how to make this possibly work for Media Center, since nothing shows in settings of Media Center or WinTV.

Could be possible it is an older model transceiver, may not work, even if it is being detected in Windows 8.1.

After many days of research, i talked with Hauppauge about my issue. The transceiver i had most likely will not work with my system now. Since i bought this tuner card used i did not receive any accessories.

So i needed to purchase a IR Receiver for my tuner card from Hauppauge that plugs into back of the card, which was cheap.
It now works with the older Media Center remote i had for operating Windows Media Center and WinTV also.

I can purchase a Media Center kit from Hauppauge that has a USB Receiver and a remote for operating Media Center alone, but this plug in receiver works just fine for both. Thanks for looking at this post, it's solved.
